- ONLINE EDUCATOR is a monthly magazine for K-12 providing Internet-based
lesson plans in a variety of subject areas. Each week, Learners Online publishes
a new online lesson that takes learners on a thematic journey across cyberspace.
Lessons are tied to current events and help learners extend their knowledge on a
wide range of topics. Students become active participants as they construct
their own understandings - the true vision of online learning.

PlaneMath
- Materials for elementary school students about math and aeronautics,
sponsored by InfoUse, in cooperation with NASA. The site is designed to
stimulate and motivate students with physical disabilities in grades 4-7
to pursue aeronautics-related careers via the development and delivery
of accessible math education materials on the Internet. Recognizing that
math curricula for students in these grades is most often built around
the manipulation of tools such as pencils, compasses, and rulers, the designers
of this site have endeavored to teach the same concepts without relying
on the physical acuity of the student.

ARISE (Applications Reform In Secondary Education) - A national college-prep
math program developed for grades 9-11 that emphasizes real-world application
settings. Hogan Senior High School, located in Vallejo, CA, is one of 15
national pilot sites, and the only one located in California. This site
describes the program at Hogan, provides information for parents, and has
links to sites relating to the curriculum.

Mathematics (CalTech) - Videotape-and-workbook modules that explore
basic topics in high school mathematics in ways that cannot be done at
the chalkboard or in a textbook. The tapes use live action, music, special
effects, and imaginative computer animation. The goal of the project is
to attract young people to mathematics through high-quality instructional
modules that show mathematics to be understandable, exciting, and eminently
worthwhile.
