Week 1

Welcome to CIS 211 OL.  Before we get started, you need to order your textbook, download the Winzip 8.1 file compression program to your computer, and download the student files.  Information for doing this is on the syllabus.

Explore this site (CIS 211OL), the CampusCruiser website, and the WebCT website.  Make sure you can login to both CampusCruiser and WebCT.  This site has a CampusCruiser link that can step you through your login information.  The WebCT login and password should be the same as the CampusCruiser login information (you may have to enter this information twice).  At present, we will be using WebCT for tests, quizzes, projects, and chats.  CampusCruiser will be used for email, grades, and shared files.  I have supplied the links to many of these features on this site.

Thursday I will be in the WebCT Chat Room from 8:00 - 9:00.  If you have any questions please "see me" during these "office hours".  My ChatRoom office hours will be every Thursday from 8:00 - 9:00.  Attending "chats" is not mandatory.

Name each zipped file its Solution name.  Your email Subject line needs to include the Exercise number, beginning page number, and Solution name (ex., #8 P37 (State Capitals)).  You will need to zip each assignment separately and attach to separate email messages.
