Threats

Likely many killed from collisions with towers, tall buildings and other structures during migration. Deforestation on wintering grounds is increasing, and water pollution on breeding and wintering grounds impacts macro-invertebrates it feeds on. Increased water flow rates in suburban streams likely impacts nesting attempts. Increase in mammalian predators like raccoons may cause problems, and feral cat populations continue to grow.
