Chapter #3 (Forecasting).
This will be a slow chapter for some of you because of the math, but it is an important one. As you read the chapter, try to do the problems at the back of the chapter (p 115 numbers 3, 6, 9, 14, 18, 23, 25 & 27. I realize that you can get the answers from the book but you need to be able to do the work come test time.
Only one problem will be graded; that will be the M&L manufacturing case on page 123. You will need to do the all of the other problems by Friday early so that you can submit the M&L case on time. The solutions (with notes) to the other problems will be posted in sections during the week on the Solutions page.
The solution to the M&L Case is due by Friday at 7 pm.
Don't forget as you go through the problems
that you can use the Forum for discussions amongst yourselves. If you are
having a problem with some part of the chapter, the forum is your first step in
the assistance process. Just post your question and, if others are using
the forum as it should be used, they may be able to help you. I will look
in on the discussions from time to time, commenting as necessary. We need
to use the on-line facilities to avoid this becoming a set of 20+ independent
studies.
